This page explains your right, under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 ("CCPA") as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 ("CPRA"), to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your "personal information". It also explains how Renzue honors that right, what "sale" and "sharing" mean on a news and discussion website like ours, and how you can submit an opt-out request in several ways, including automatically through your browser.
This page is part of our privacy notices. Our full Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, why we collect it, and the other rights you have. Our Cookie Policy describes the cookies and similar technologies we use.
1. Your Right to Opt Out
If you are a resident of the State of California, you have the right to direct a business not to "sell" or "share" your personal information. In plain language, that means the following:
- You can tell us to stop disclosing your personal information to other companies for their own advertising or monetization purposes.
- You do not need an account on Renzue to exercise this right.
- You do not need to pay a fee, give a reason, or verify your identity with government documents to opt out.
- We will stop the relevant disclosures within 15 business days of receiving your request, and your choice stays in effect until you change it.
- You can make your request via email at privacy@renzue.com, by postal mail, or automatically through a browser privacy signal called "Global Privacy Control" (GPC).
2. What "Sell" and "Share" Mean Under California Law
"Sale":Under the CCPA, a "sale" means selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or communicating personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration.
"Sharing":Added by CPRA, "sharing" means disclosing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (showing ads based on your activity across different websites).
What is not a sale or sharing: Disclosures to service providers who process data strictly on our behalf (hosting, security, infrastructure), disclosures required by law, or aggregated and de-identified data.
3. Our Statement: We Do Not Sell Your Data for Money
We do not sell your personal information for money. Renzue does not operate a data brokerage business. We do not sell user email lists or reader profiles to third parties.
However, because we use standard advertising and analytics tags that may qualify as "sharing" under California's broad definitions, we provide this straightforward opt-out mechanism to give you full control.
4. How to Opt Out

5. Non-Discrimination
Exercising your privacy rights will never affect your access to Renzue. We will not deny you access, charge different prices, or provide degraded service because you chose to opt out.
